The Lorax!

On Friday of Spring Break, we planned a family date to see The Lorax!  The Goods went to see it at a drive-in in Granbury at the beginning of the week and had so much fun that we decided to do it too.  We took the kids to IHOP for dinner first to get The Lorax breakfast.  It was SO cute!!  Laney chose Mac and Cheese with Truffula Trees (broccoli.)

Miles got Green Eggs and Ham with a Rooty Tooty Bar ba Looty Blueberry Cone Cake!
Green Eggs and Ham with a Truffula Chip pancake for Sam!
Can you tell how pumped Todd was that I was taking pictures of our dining experience!?
Then, we drove out to Granbury and got in the huge line of cars waiting to get into the drive-in.  We waited for 45 minutes and started to get worried that we were going to miss the move, but we made it in just in the nick of time!  It was SO fun.  We opened the back hatch, set up our chairs and got nice and cozy to watch the movie! We can not wait to go back again!

Parewis Picnic!!

One of our favorite Spring Break activities was a day at the park for some playing and picnicking with the Paredeses!  We decided that the celebrity combo name for our families is The Parewises!!  So it was a Parewis kind of day at the park!!
We brought our sand toys because my kids always like to spend a little time in the sandbox at this  park!
Max gave Laney some pushes on the chair swing!

Virginia and two of her cutie pies!
Laney loves Abby to pieces and Abigail is always so so sweet to her!

 Sam and his silly antics!

Laney wanted to climb on the rockwall WITH help and she got a little panicked when I stepped back to snap a shot!

A little beamwork.  Coach Marcia would be proud!

 These kids are cute!
 Let's eat!!

What better activity to directly follow some lunching than some insane swinging on the tire swing!!

We decided we couldn't quite part ways yet, so we finished off our day at Braums with some ice cream!!

Chocolate Cheerio Crispy Treats!

We wanted to make a sweet treat and had to kind of MacGyver something together out of our pantry.  Miles is my always willing kitchen helper.  He loves to help me with any and all cooking!  We decided to make some Chocolate Cheerio Crispy Treats!!

Silly Girl!

Laney loves dressing up in twirly skirts and dresses.  She changes almost every single day into one of her favorite fancy skirts, this one included.  She got all decked out in this silly get up and I had to take some pictures because she gave me such a flashback to the 80's.  I wish that you could see her huge turquoise scrunchie.  I don't even know why we have that!

Creative Hands!

We spent one of our Spring Break mornings at Creative Hands.  We've never been there and it was so fun.  Laney has been with Jess and her cousins before and she was super excited to go back.  We started off picking out what we wanted to paint.  Sam picked a Nemo.  Miles chose Lightning McQueen and Laney picked a unicorn in front of a rainbow.  Time to paint!!!

Miles is very detail oriented.  He made sure that every single bit of his little ceramic was painted McQueen Red!!!
Sam gave the same attention to his Nemo with the orange paint.  He then went over it with every other color that he could get his little hands on!  His ended up completely black in the end.
I had to put the camera away because the brothers were going a little crazy with the paint.  I can get a picture of Laney's finished product.  It is hanging up in Daddy's office.  She was so excited to give it to him!

This sealed the deal for Sam!  They got to watch a movie while we waited for their pieces to get glittered and fired in their ovens!  Sam is a movie-head, for sure, so this was like icing on the cake of a fun morning!
After this we stopped at the store and picked up lunchables, a big treat for them, and had a picnic on the floor of Todd's office!
